Charlotte Shambrook

Meet Charlotte: MA in Education, QTS, PGCE Primary, BA (Hons) English and Dance Charlotte is the owner and class leader of Reading Fairy North Herts. She is a fully qualified primary school teacher and mummy to her one-year-old daughter Evie who was born at 27 weeks weighing 430g (yes, that’s under 1 lb!) Before she became mummy to her tiny miracle, she taught in a large primary school in Luton and spent several years teaching in Year 1, supporting children as they take the phonic screening test. She has taught across KS1, as well as Reception, and understands the expectations of children as they progress through school. Charlotte has had rigorous phonics training and knows how best to support children in the crucial building blocks as an early reader. As an experienced Early Years teacher, she understands how young children learn and how best to support them in their learning journey. Charlotte also has a Master’s qualification in Education and her paper, ‘In transition: Children, challenges and conflict’ about the importance of play for young children was published in Early Years Educator magazine (vol 16, 2014). Her research outlined the importance of play in children’s learning. When she came across Reading Fairy she was so impressed with it’s fun, engaging, research based curriculum, she couldn’t wait to share it with as many pre-school children as possible!
