Say Hello to Tracy Carter!

Hello, I can't wait to share my love of books with you all! I’ve always been a bookworm, and spent most of my childhood in libraries or curled up exploring new worlds with the help of a good book. After my English Literature degree, only a publishing career would do, and I’ve spent more than a decade working as a Book Editor, most recently for Rough Guides (part of Penguin Books). When my daughter was born I realised I love sharing books with children even more than I love reading them myself! I read to both of my kids from birth, delighting in sharing classic picture books from my own childhood – “Peepo”, “The Tiger Who Came to Tea”, “Alfie Gets in First” – and discovering wonderful new books together – “I Will Not Ever Never Eat a Tomato”, “Superworm”, “Oi Frog!” What could be better than snuggling up with your child, seeing their joy as magical stories unfold before their eyes? When my eldest child started school, I realised that all the books, storytelling, rhymes and word games had given her the best start – she was desperate to master reading herself so she could join in all the fun! Three years ago, I started volunteering in the School Library, keen to find ways to share our family love of books with other children, and then I discovered Reading Fairy! I feel so privileged to be sharing this magical journey with a new generation of eager little Book Babies and Reading Recruits!
